Sean Behrens has been teaching guitar in Austin, Texas for over 2 decades and has helped students from varied backgrounds learn to play the classical guitar through the Suzuki Method. Mr. Behrens has also performed extensively throughout the area both as a soloist and in The Rush Tribute band Cygnulz as well as with the Violin/Guitar Duo, The Chanterelle Duo. Mr. Behrens earned his Bachelor's Degree in Guitar Performance from Colorado State University in 1996 under internationally renowned guitarist, Masakazu Ito and his Masters Degree in Classical Guitar from The University of Denver Lamont School of Music in 2000 where he studied under Ricardo Iznaola and Jonathan Leathwood. He has also performed in masterclasses with Benjamin Verdery, Roland Dyens, David Tanenbaum, The LA Guitar Quartet, Jason Vieaux, Antigoni Goni and Alfonso Moreno. In addition to his classical guitar focus, Mr. Behrens is well versed in electric guitar and electric bass. Mr. Behrens did his first Suzuki Teacher training at the Longay Guitar Center in Cupertino, California under renowned teacher trainer Frank Longay. He has also trained under Andrea Cannon, David Madsen and Bill Kossler. Mr. Behrens continues to develop as a teacher and player and arranger in Austin.
